Lord Mayor's Visit
2nd Apr 2026
We were honoured to welcome the Lord Mayor of Belfast, Councillor Tracey Kelly, to our school. She engaged warmly with the children, speaking to them in an approachable and friendly manner and providing an insight into her role, including her work based at City Hall. The Lord Mayor also spoke enthusiastically about leading the recent St Patrick’s Day parade. The children were particularly fascinated to learn about her mayoral chain, which is made of 18?carat gold and is both heavy and highly valuable. During her visit, Councillor Kelly enjoyed a walk around our lovely school and was very impressed with our provision. She also spoke at length with Mrs Kielty about the values of the Peace Plus ASPIRE projects in bringing communities together, and showed a keen interest in the EA Being Well Doing Well Programme. The visit was a wonderful experience for our pupils, and we are very grateful to the Lord Mayor for taking the time to visit our school.
